A lovely onyx and emerald pendent. The perimeter of the pendant is adorned with diamonds. The center features a cabochon emerald, surrounded by milgrain and diamonds. Carved onyx fills the insides of the pendent in a beautiful shapes. In the 1920's pendents were worn on a chain, or a strand of pearls, or beads. The idea was for the long-hanging pendent could swing and dance to the new era of fashion for women. Pendents were displayed on a plaque displaying different geometric shapes. A very common theme to the Art Deco era is black and green, which makes this pendent and excellent example.
